STLFW Events Have Officially Begun

Friday marked the official start to St. Louis Fashion Week events with FABRIC featuring the St. Louis Fashion Blog Awards at the beautiful all-new Public Media Commons. As DJ TrashTalk played choice beats, fashion aficionados took in a presentation by designer Grace Kubilius’, the current Craft Alliance Fiber Artist-In-Residence.

When the sun set the fun began. STLFBA host, Christia DeSheilds, made introductions and the award ceremony commenced. St. Louis influencers were commended for their blogs ranging from fashion to lifestyle and design. Weird Cult(ure) walked away graciously as the judge’s choice Best Newcomer. I’m so thankful to have been chosen as a winner by the prestigious panel of judges! Many other talented bloggers went home with awards too, to see the full list click here.

After the awards, guests were presented with videos by Grain celebrating St. Louis Design Week, and the Nine Network, which showed how the numerous video screens can be utilized at Public Media Commons. Quite the experience! St. Louis Fashion Week kicked off with a bang and I can’t wait for a phenomenal season ahead. To see the full list of event and purchase tickets, click here.

The night didn’t end there. Celebration was in order. My date, Robby, and I headed for The Firebird to catch the tail end of An Under Cover Weekend night one. We saw Bear Hive as LCD Soundsystem and Volcanoes as Rage Against the Machine. Both were out of this world! I especially enjoyed Rage as they’re a guilty pleasure and my good friends, Volcanoes, were covering them. The addition of a few Schlafly Pumpkin Ales made Friday a perfect fall night in St. Louis. Cheers to many more.
