I’m unsure as to how I came across Shrimps. Most likely the countless hours I spend scrolling through Instagram. I’ve been in love with fur looks this winter and was taken aback by their collection because of the vibrant colors and simplicity.
The line is faux-fur from a London-based designer, Hannah Weiland.
“The first collection blends the simplicity of the classic Breton-stripe with bright faux-furs to create coats and clutch bags that are at once nostalgic and surreal yet contemporary. A British brand that captures British humour, creativity and innovative fashion.” -via Shrimps website
For some reason the collection reminded me of British supermodel, Jean Shrimpton, a.k.a. The Shrimp. Probably because of the image below. I’m not sure if the name Shrimps came from this, but it’s a nice juxtaposition. Ha!
I urge you to look into this line further and watch out for them because Shrimps is the shit! You can purchase pieces at Opening Ceremony. Their look book is a mix of humor, liveliness and vintage. Take a gander!
